WATCH: Lundqvist Sprays Water On Crosby, Claims It Was Unintentional

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Things got nasty in Game 6 at Madison Square Garden.

During a scrum following the end of the second period on Sunday night, Penguins and Rangers players threw down -- hitting, pushing, grabbing. The works.

In the middle of the scuffle, goaltender Henrik Lundqvist sprayed Pens center Sidney Crosby with water.

The Rangers' netminder claims that the squirt was unintentional.

"I always squirt it when I go off the ice," Lundqvist told reporters. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Lundqvist made 36 saves in the do-or-die games for the Blueshirts, who evened the series up at three games apiece with a 3-1 victory.

Crosby, despised by Rangers faithful for years, got into it with several Blueshirts but was held scoreless on the night. He heard it loud and clear from the fans at MSG.

According to John Shannonof Sportsnet, neither Lundqvist nor Crosby will be fined for their actions.

Game 7 will be played at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. The winner will take on either the Bruins or the Canadiens in the Eastern Conference finals.
