WATCH: J.R. Smith Hits Glen Rice Jr. In The Groin; Gets 1-Game Suspension
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Is J.R. Smith acting out again?
We're not sure, but the NBA penalized him for his actions during Tuesday night's loss to the Wizards.
In the fourth quarter, with the Knicks down double digits, the shooting guard hit Glen Rice Jr. in the groin. Rice Jr. immediately fell to the ground, though it's unclear whether the shot was intentional.
Regardless, the NBA hit Smith with a one-game suspension on Wednesday.
Rice Jr. was charged with a foul on the play.

A source within the Wizards' organization told the New York Post that Washington believes it was intentional.
Smith doesn't have the greatest reputation in the NBA because of past antics, and that might have ultimately worked against him in this case.
Smith came off the bench on Tuesday night, scoring six points and dishing out four assists in 24 minutes.
