WATCH: A-Rod Accepts Ice Bucket Challenge, Nominates Mo And Cano

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Alex Rodriguez has kept a very low profile while serving his season-long suspension, but that didn't keep him from accepting the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS research.

The embattled Yankees third baseman took the challenge in the dugout of Mark Light Field at Alex Rodriguez Park, the home of the University of Miami Hurricanes baseball team.

A-Rod posted the video on his Facebook page.

The 14-time All-Star nominated University of Miami President Donna Shalala, MLB analyst Harold Reynolds, 24 Hour Fitness founder Mark Mastrov and former teammates Robinson Cano and Mariano Rivera.

Rodriguez is expected to return to the Yankees next season and be a key part of their offense. He has three years and $61 million remaining on his contract.
