Washington Irving Campus Remains Closed After Building Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Manhattan school building was closed Friday after a fire broke out late Thursday night.

According to authorities, fire was reported at 40 Irving Place on East 16th Street in the Gramercy Park section of Manhattan at around 11 p.m., CBS2 reported.

The building, known as the Washington Irving Campus, houses six schools.

There were no reported injuries, according to officials.

Officials said campus staff and students were directed to relocation sites on Friday in wake of the fire.

The cause of the incident was not immediately known.
