East River Ferry Makes Hard Landing At Wall Street; Multiple Minor Injuries

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A ferry experienced a hard landing at the East River pier at Wall Street late Wednesday afternoon, leaving multiple people with minor injuries.

The East River Ferry watercraft struck Pier 11/Wall Street at 5:38 p.m., officials told CBS2.

CBS2's Joe Biermann reported between six and 10 people appeared to suffer minor injuries and were able to walk.

One woman was seen at the docking area with an ice pack on her knee, and others reportedly suffered bumps and bruises, Biermann reported.

Still, riders told 1010 WINS' Derricke Dennis that they were not deterred by the rough landing.

"I consider the East River Ferry to be incredibly safe. One occasional bump is par for the course," one man said.

Paramedics were at the scene with triages set up.
