Wall Collapses In Gowanus; 1 Person Taken To Hospital With Injuries

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One person was injured after a wall collapsed along 12th Street in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn between Second and Third avenues, CBS2 reported.

Debris crashed down onto a vehicle and the sidewalk.

The wall came down after a demolition truck struck the building, collapsing the metal roll-down gate, according to officials.

One person was taken to the hospital.

Officials issued two violations after the incident. The sidewalk remains closed and the area taped off while the building's owner makes sure the area is safe, according to the Department of Buildings.
