Man Wanted In Connection With Deadly Midtown Shooting In Police Custody

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in Midtown Manhattan was taken into police custody Thursday morning.

Vincent "Fat Chris" Arcona, 27, of Medford, was picked up after trying to use a fake name when he showed up at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital looking for a psychological evaluation, CBS2 reported.

Sources said a staffer called 911 after recognizing him from pictures distributed by police and officers from the 44th Precinct responded, 1010 WINS' Juliet Papa reported.

Arcona remains at the hospital in custody, Papa reported.

He is believed to be an accomplice of the gunman in a deadly confrontation near Penn Station earlier this week, Papa reported.

The shooting appeared to be drug-related, and started with a quarrel inside the McDonald's at 490 Eighth Ave., police said.

The gunman later shot and killed a 43-year-old man and wounded two other men just after 6 a.m. Monday at the entrance to the 34th Street-Penn Station A, C and E subway stop, at West 35th Street and Eighth Avenue, police said.

The gunman remains at large, Papa reported.
