Video Roundup: Fatal Building Explosion Rocks East Harlem

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - At least two people have died and 22 others were injured in an explosion that leveled two buildings in East Harlem Wednesday morning.

A gas leak was reported to Con Edison by a resident in a nearby building just before 9:15 a.m.. Crews arrived at the scene moments after the two connected buildings on East 116th Street and Park Avenue were engulfed in flames.

The explosion was heard as far as 40 blocks away from the scene. Thick black smoke has been billowing out of the explosion site for hours.
