Vet Team Removes Arrow From New Jersey Bear's Nose
NEW JERSEY (CBSNewYork) -- A bear in New Jersey is recovering after a successful surgery to remove an arrow that had been stuck in its nose for months.
The animal was captured on Thursday near New Egypt Raceway in Ocean County.
The arrow had been stuck for the last six months. Veterinarians said they believe he was shot before winter.
It's a miracle he was able to eat, because the arrow was wedged through his tongue and into the bottom of his jaw, CBS 2 reported.
The team that performed the surgery posed for a picture with the animal before he was released back into the wild.
