Police: Valley Stream Man Uploaded Child Pornography To Twitter

VALLEY STREAM, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Valley Stream man was arrested and charged Thursday, after allegedly uploading numerous images of child pornography to Twitter.

Nassau County police Major Case Bureau detectives received information in March, April and May from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, about a Twitter user uploading numerous images of child pornography, police said.

An investigation by Nassau and Suffolk County police and the FBI led to the arrest of Matthew Kerniss of Valley Stream, police said.

Kerniss was charged with seven counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and four counts of possessing a sexual performance of a child, police said.

He was to be arraigned in Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
