As Valentine's Day Approaches, NJ Residents Share Their Most Romantic Memories

PARAMUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Love is in the air this weekend as couples across the Tri-State area celebrate Valentine's Day.

Candlelit dinners, flower petals on the floor, stargazing down the Jersey Shore were just a few of the romantic memories New Jersey residents shared with 1010 WINS' John Montone on Friday.

Ellen's favorite movie is "Lady and the Tramp," so on their first Valentine's Day her boyfriend made it wall-to-wall Disney.

"He had a big heart on his apartment door and he had the whole Italian restaurant set up in his apartment," she said.

Harriet recalled the most romantic candlelit dinner of her life, spoiled only by a hot pepper that gave her husband heart burn.

"(Montone: A very spicy romance you have?) Very spicy, too spicy," she said.

But Antonia said her best Valentine's Day ever was the year her husband bought her a new snow shovel.

Montone: And every time you go out and shovel 2 feet of snow, you're heart is just overwhelmed?

Antonia: Absolutely. It's the little things.

Montone: Do you know what would happen if I ever bought a snow shovel for Valentine's Day? I'd be pulling it out of my...(laughs).

The blushing Antonia told Montone she has a very big driveway and her old shovel was broken.
