Is That A Snake? Utah Woman Claims Snake Head Found In Can Of Green Beans

SALT LAKE CITY (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Finding something unsavory in your food is never fun, especially when that something is staring back at you from the bottom of a can.

Earlier this week, a Utah woman claimed she found a snake head in a can of Western Family green beans.

Troy Walker of Farmington, Utah, said she made the discovery while she and fellow church members were preparing meals Wednesday night for neighbors, KSL-TV in Salt Lake City reported.

Walker said at first, she thought it was just a burnt bean -- then she saw eyes. She said she took the snake head and empty can back to the grocery store where she bought the food.

Western Family vice president of quality control Sharon McFadden said the food company is taking the matter seriously and is working with the supplier that produced the green beans to find out what happened.

McFadden said shipments of canned green beans from this specific supplier are on hold.
