US Airways Flight Out Of LaGuardia Makes Emergency Landing; No Injuries Reported

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (CBSNewYork/AP) - A US Airways spokesman says a flight from New York's LaGuardia Airport safely made an emergency landing at its scheduled destination in Charlotte after oxygen masks deployed in the final minutes amid indications of a pressurization issue.

Spokesman Matt Miller tells The Associated Press none of the 146 passengers and five crew were hurt. He says US Airways flight 745 reported the pressure issue ``well into'' its descent into Charlotte Douglas International Airport shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday.

``The masks were deployed. I don't know how many passengers used them,'' Miller says.

He added that the Airbus A320, which left New York shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday taxied to the gate on its own to be checked by maintenance crews. He had no immediate information whether an actual problem was detected.
