Coast Guard Searches For Missing Fishermen In Marsh Off Union Beach, N.J.

UNION BEACH, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The U.S. Coast Guard was searching Friday night for two people who became stuck in a march off Union Beach, New Jersey.

The Coast Guard was called out around 8:40 p.m. for the rescue, and launched a helicopter to assist, officials told CBS2.

Local police and rescue crews also headed to the scene with their own boats.

The two people were fishing in the marsh when the tide came in, the Coast Guard said.

The Coast Guard did not know the depth of the water or how far the fishermen were away from solid land.
