Union Beach Families Move Into First Modular Homes Built Following Superstorm Sandy
UNION BEACH, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Two families still struggling more than a year and a half after Superstorm Sandy moved into the first modular homes built after the storm caused destruction in Union Beach, N.J.
New Jersey's first lady Mary Pat Christie was on hand Wednesday to welcome the families to their new homes.
The group "Rebuilding Union Beach'' developed the grant project to fund the construction of modular homes for up to 15 eligible families who lost homes in the northern Monmouth County community.
The project was funded by the Robin Hood Relief Fund as well as the Hurricane New Jersey Relief Fund that Christie oversees.
