3 Workers Injured When Car Slams Into Scaffold On Upper East Side

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Three construction workers were injured Wednesday afternoon when a driver lost control on the Upper East Side.

The accident happened around 2:45 pm. at 87th Street and Lexington Avenue, officials told CBS2.

Police said the driver had some sort of medical emergency and lost control of the car. He sideswiped another vehicle before crashing into the workers, police said.

The workers were all rushed to NewYork Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The workers were all subcontractors for Con Edison.
