It happened at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday in Highland Park in Cypress Hills.

Police say a 17-year-old man was shot in the hip and walked himself to Jamaica Hospital. Police say a 20-year-old man was shot in the torso and an 18-year-old man was slashed in the arm. Both were taken to Brookdale Hospital.

The altercation apparently broke out over a pickup basketball game, 1010 WINS' Gary Baumgarten reported.

Neighbors said they have been getting used to the violence.

"That's the way it is around here," Arnold said.

Arnold told WINS' Baumgarten that he won't let his son go to the park alone.

Police say the injuries were considered non-life threatening.

The investigation is continuing.
