Twitter Has Fun With Paul O'Neill After Getting Shout Out From Donald Trump

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Apparently Paul O'Neill is a Donald Trump supporter.

The former New York Yankees great and current broadcaster was at the billionaire's victory rally in Jupiter, Florida, Tuesday night after Trump captured the Mississippi and Michigan Republican primaries.

Trump pointed out O'Neill in the crowd, asking for his endorsement, and apparently getting it.

"Do you endorse me? I love you. Thank you, Paul. Wow, that's a great endorsement from Ohio," Trump said with a smile.

After Trump mentioned the former World Champion's name, Twitter decided to have fun at O'Neill's expense.

Over 17 seasons with the Yankees and Cincinnati Reds, O'Neill compiled 2,105 hits and slugged 281 home runs, while winning five championships.
