Tunnel To Towers Foundation To Help Families Of Fallen Dallas Officers

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- When NYPD Detectives Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were ambushed and killed in Brooklyn in 2014, people from around the world pitched in with donations to help their families left behind.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation raised $1.2 million to pay off the mortgages on both of their homes.

Now the non-profit wants to do the same for relatives of the five Dallas officers killed on Thursday.

John Hodge, chief operation officer of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, spoke to CBS2 on how they are helping.
