Two Of Donald Trump's Kids Unable To Vote In NY Primary

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Republican front-runner Donald Trump says two of his children will not be able to vote for him in the upcoming New York presidential primary because they didn't register in time.

In an interview on Fox News Monday, Trump said his children, Eric and Ivanka, "feel very, very guilty'' not to have registered, saying that they were "unaware of the rules.''

"They had a longtime register and they were, you know, unaware of the rules and they didn't register in time," he told "Fox and Friends" by phone. "So Eric and Ivanka, I guess, won't be voting."

Trump didn't provide further details on their failure to register, saying, simply, "it's fine.'' When asked if he would now cut off their allowance, Trump replied, "Yes. No more allowance."

According to New York State's Board of Elections, the deadline for new voter registrations was March 25. The deadline for New Yorkers who were already registered but wanted to change political parties was Oct. 9, 2015.
