TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A massive fire in Trenton early Monday morning engulfed at nine homes, causing three of them to collapse.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. on Weinberg Place and quickly spread. Crews evacuated an entire block and power has been turned off to the area after falling power lines.

"We actually had three houses, which are toward the end of the block, that have been completely collapsed," said Deputy Chief Leonard Carmichael Jr.  "We have three cars at the end of the block that are destroyed also due to the fire."

Fire officials said two people were hurt.
