New Jersey Little League Champs Eliminated From Regional Series

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The dream is over for a New Jersey girl and her team as they hoped to play in the Little League World Series.

Toms River's Kayla Roncin got her second hit Friday afternoon, but one batter later Roncin was tagged out in a double-play, CBS 2 reported.

The Toms River team lost to Delaware 4-3 and was eliminated from the mid-Atlantic regional.

Roncin helped lead her team to the New Jersey Little League baseball championship last month.

She was one of just two girls playing with the boys in this year's regional tournament. The other girl plays for a team from Philadelphia.
