Ticket Prices Soar As Rangers Get Chance To Advance To Stanley Cup Finals

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York Rangers have a chance to advance to the Stanley Cup finals, and that means fans wanting to go to Thursday night's game are going to have to pay a pretty penny.

"People are dying to see this team back in the Stanley Cup finals," said Connor Gregoire at SeatGeek.com.

Ticket prices for Thursday's game at Madison Square Garden are soaring.

"It's jumped about 20 percent the average ticket price the last couple of days. It's now about $800," Gregoire said.

The cheapest ticket is going for about $350.

"These prices are a little bit higher even than what we saw for Games 3 and 4," Gregoire said. "That's really saying something because last week, there was a frenzy."

Gregoire believes ticket prices will only continue to rise if the Rangers make it to the Stanley Cup finals.

"If this gets to a Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals here at MSG, the Rangers have a chance to win the cup at home, it's going to be Super Bowl-esque, the ticket prices we're looking at," said Gregoire, who suspects prices could reach $1,500.
