Three Arrested When Cops Find Guns, Ammo In Rental Car During Brooklyn Stop

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- New York City police have discovered a cache of guns and ammunition in a rental car during a street stop.

Police say officers in an unmarked car stopped a Chevy Malibu on Wednesday evening in Brooklyn because it appeared the driver, Larry Black, wasn't wearing a seatbelt, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported.

The car was a rental but wasn't registered to anyone in the car. Officers noticed a woman in the back had a knife.

Officers searched the car and discovered an assault rifle, a shotgun, three semi-automatic handguns, high-capacity magazines and 100 rounds of hollow-tip bullets and armor piercing ammunition.

Black and two passengers have been arrested. They're being held on weapons charges.
