Storm Causing Flight, Traffic & Transit Changes Across Area
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The storm slamming the Tri-State area Tuesday is already disrupting road, rail and air travel.

Flights:
At LaGuardia Airport, 184 flights have been cancelled so far Tuesday morning. About 67 flights have been canceled at Kennedy Airport while Newark Airport is seeing about 70 cancellations.
As of 8 a.m. due to wintry conditions, #LGA is reporting 184 cancellations or about 16 percent of operations, mostly impacting Northeast flights. Travelers should contact their airline for the status of their flights and leave extra time to and from the airport.

#JFK is operating normally and flights are arriving and departing. About 67 flights cancelled as of this morning due to weather conditions, so travelers should check with their carrier to make sure their flight is departing before going to the airport.

Due to the current winter storm there have been nearly 70 cancellations at #EWR. Customers are urged to check their flight status with their airline before traveling to the airport.

Transit:
On the rails, Amtrak has suspended service from Boston to Penn Station Tuesday. Amtrak says service will be restored when weather conditions allow.

Long Island Rail Road is reporting westbound delays of 10 to 15 minutes on the Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson and Oyster Bay branches due to weather-related signal trouble.

The LIRR says it will also be focusing its resources accordingly on Suffolk County, which is expected to see higher levels of snow Tuesday.
The rail road also says it will run three additional eastbound trains from Penn Station Tuesday afternoon to accommodate people leaving the city early due to the storm.

Scattered weather-related delays were also reported on Metro-North.
NJ TRANSIT's bus route No. 196 is also on a snow detour and will not operate on Skyline Drive. Bus Route Nos. 196/197 will originate from/terminate in Greenwood Lake Park Ride to the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

On the roads in New Jersey, there is a 45 mph speed restriction on the Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway due to the wet roadways.
