There's No Place Like Home: Police Search For Woman Who Stole 'Wizard Of Oz' Slippers
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are on the hunt for a woman who they say stole a pair of ruby red slippers from "The Wizard of Oz" that are worth several thousand dollars.
Authorities said the woman removed the slippers from a display case inside the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel located at 1100 South Ave. in Staten Island on March 3.
Officials said the sparkly shoes are worth $2,500.
Anyone with information regarding the grand larceny incident is urged to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
