Suffolk County Investigating 2 Deaths During Snowstorm

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Suffolk County Police are investigating two deaths that occurred during the snowstorm.

In the Elwood section of Huntington on Chester Court, authorities say three 17 year olds were taking turns using a tube to go down the hill when tragedy occurred Monday night.

"When one of the teens, Sean Urda, got on the tube, apparently lost control and struck a light pole at approximately 10 p.m.," Suffolk County Police Spokesperson Dawn Schob told WCBS 880's Sophia Hall.

Urda was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In Bay Shore, a woman walked out into her backyard and found her 83-year-old husband dead, Hall reported. He was said to have suffered from dementia.

The woman told police her husband went to bed around 8 p.m., and she found him around 7:30 the next morning.

The cause of death will be determined after the autopsy is complete.
