Man Convicted Of Killing Wife's Lover In Teaneck, Torching His Body

HACKENSACK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A former computer repair shop owner has been convicted of fatally shooting his estranged wife's lover and then torching his body on a bed.

Sui Kam "Tony" Tung, 52, of New York, was convicted Tuesday for killing 59-year-old Robert Cantor in Teaneck in March 2011, The Record reported.

Prosecutors say he forced his way into Cantor's home at gunpoint a year after finding out about the affair by installing spyware on her computer. He marched his estranged wife and Cantor to the basement bedroom where she had told Tung they first had sex and then opened fire.

Tung's ex-wife was among the witnesses who testified at the trial. She said Tung showed her a handgun and told her that her and Cantor's lives were in danger. She also testified that Tung gave her a Valentine's card that included a message eerily similar to language she used in an email to Cantor, The Record reported.

Tung's public defender argued that he was innocent and the victim of an investigation that failed to look at any other potential subjects.

Tung was found guilty on eight of 11 charges, including murder, arson, desecrating human remains and destroying evidence. He was acquitted of felony murder and burglary charges.

He faces up to life in prison when he's sentenced Feb. 26.
