Devils' Hall To Miss 3-4 Weeks After Undergoing Knee Surgery

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The New Jersey Devils' string of good fortune came to an end Wednesday as the team announced standout winger Taylor Hall is expected to miss three to four weeks with a knee injury.

Hall underwent arthroscopic surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee Wednesday afternoon at Summit Medical Group Surgery Center, the Devils said. He has been placed on injured reserve. The team announced it has recalled forward Blake Pietila from Albany.

Hall, 25, is tied for the team lead in goals (five) and points (12). He was the first overall pick in the 2010 NHL draft by the Edmonton Oilers and was traded to the Devils in June for defenseman Adam Larsson.

The news comes as the Devils are riding a five-game winning streak and are sitting in third place in the Metropolitan Division.

New Jersey returns to action Thursday night at Anaheim.
