Killam, who portrayed Brad Pitt and Jebidiah Atkinson during his six years on "SNL,'' will play King George III and take over for Rory O'Malley on Jan. 17. Killam recently finished shooting his directorial film debut, "Why We're Killing Gunther,'' starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Killam will join other new cast members Bryan Terrell Clark as George Washington on Jan. 10, Alysha Deslorieux as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds on Dec. 16 and J. Quinton Johnson as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison on Jan. 6.

Currently, Javier Munoz stars as Alexander Hamilton, Brandon Victor Dixon plays Aaron Burr, Mandy Gonzalez is Angelica Schuyler and Lexi Lawson plays Eliza Hamilton.

Munoz replaced "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda in the title role when Miranda left the Tony-award winning musical July 9.

"Hamilton" has burst through the Broadway bubble like few shows. It has been praised by politicians and rap stars, influenced the debate over the nation's currency and become a cultural phenomenon. It also won 11 Tony Awards, including best new musical, best book and best score.
