Suspected Burglars Caught On Camera Casing Home In Morris County

MENDHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J.(CBSNewYork) -- Police have a big clue in the burglaries that have neighborhoods in Morris County on edge.

Authorities released surveillance video of the suspects caught on camera, checking out a house in Mendham.

Investigators alleged that the suspects kicked in the door and stayed inside for less than a minute, before coming out and escaping in a getaway car.

They've done the same thing in five other cases over the last few weeks.

"Basically crashing in the front door, going for specific items such as jewelry, up the steps, and right back out in probably less than two to three minutes," Steven Crawford, Mendham Police, explained.

Police say that in one of the burglaries the homeowners were inside but not hurt.
