Suspect Fires Gun At Man, Strikes Pavement In Washington Square Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect fired a shot at a man in Washington Square Park this week, police said.

Police said around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, the suspect took out a firearm in the park and fired a shot toward the 29-year-old man. The victim was not struck by the gunfire, but he was hit by a concrete fragment that was sent into the air when the round struck the pavement, police said.

The victim refused medical attention, police said.

The suspect was described as a white male standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall and about 25 years old. Police have released a surveillance photo.
