Suspect Charged In East Harlem Stabbing That Left Man Dead

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a stabbing that left a man dead in East Harlem this week.

Around 1:25 a.m. Monday, police were called to the apartment complex at 58 E. 117th St. for a report that a man had been stabbed in front of the building, police said.

They found Melvin McLoyd, 26, at the scene with a stab wound to the torso, police said. McLoyd was rushed to Harlem Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

A 22-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene, police said. The man – identified as Randy McNair – was charged with murder, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
