Suspect Apprehended In Alleged South Bronx Arson

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged arson last week at a South Bronx apartment.

Around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, a suspect set a fire apartment 4A at 950 St. John Ave. in the Bronx, and ran off, police said.

Police on Monday apprehended Jemal Guity, 25, in the arson. He was charged with arson and reckless endangerment.

Police identified Guity as a suspect the day of the fire. It was not immediately learned how police found him.
