Surveillance Video Shows Man Getting Shot In Face In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are searching for a man who they said shot another man in the face in Brooklyn.
The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. Sunday on Stanley Avenue at Van Siclen Avenue in East New York.
Surveillance video shows the suspect walking up to the the unidentified 41-year-old victim and opening fire.
The victim was shot once in the face, police said. He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center where he remained in critical condition Tuesday night, according to the NYPD.
One man told 1010 WINS' Roger Stern he watched the video of the shooting as it happened – crouched down in the convenience store and seeing the feed from a security camera outside.
"Yes, I'm scared," he said.
The video remained disturbing two days later when CBS 2 showed it to people standing in almost the same spot as the victim.
"Very unreal, it's very unreal," one person said, "because you don't expect it, you know? I don't want to be standing here anymore."
The suspect is described by police as a black man, approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighing about 230 pounds, with brown eyes and close-cut black hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
