Police: SUNY Purchase Placed On Lockdown Following Reports Of Gunman

UPDATE 11:45 p.m.: Lockdown has been lifted. 

PURCHASE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork)-- The State University of New York at Purchase was placed on lockdown after reports of an armed man, police said.

Rye Brook police confirmed to CBS2 that the campus was placed on lockdown following the report of a gunman, and that students were advised to stay in their rooms.

An alert was sent out to students notifying them.

New York State University police said the possible suspect was seen fleeing the campus into the woods.

There are no reports of injuries.
