Woman, 79, Fell And Hit Head In Brooklyn Robbery, Police Say

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Sunday for a suspect who robbed a 79-year-old woman in Sunset Park, Brooklyn last week.

Around 6:50 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, the woman was on 53rd Street between Fourth and Fifth avenues in Brooklyn when the assailant approached her from behind and snatched her bag, police said. The woman fell to the ground and hit her head, police said.

The suspect ran off and the victim was taken to NYU Lutheran Medical Center for an evaluation, police said.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male between 40 and 50 years old, with a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, dark-colored jeans, and sneakers.
