Man Beaten With Pipe, Critically Injured In Sunnyside, Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was in critical condition Sunday, after being beaten with a metal pipe during a fight in Sunnyside, Queens earlier this weekend.
The 34-year-old man was attacked with the pipe during a quarrel with two other men around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, at 41-54 54th St. near Skillman Avenue, police told 1010 WINS.
The victim was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital Center in critical condition after the attack, police said. He was identified by the New York Daily News as Marti Quiej.
Police recovered the pipe at the scene.
One of the attackers was in custody late Sunday afternoon. The other was last seen wearing blue jeans, black shoes and a gray jacket and remained at large.
