Summer In November? Tri-State Soaking Up Sun, Above-Average Temps

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It's National Candy Day and the weather sure is sweet!

Fifty-eight degrees is the normal high for Nov. 4, but New York City started out at that temp Wednesday morning, said CBS2 Meteorologist John Elliott.

The high today should hit 71 degrees-- the normal temperature for Sept. 27.

This afternoon will look and feel much like yesterday — so pretty much a warm, picture perfect day, according to CBS2 Meteorologist Justin Lewis.

Ironically, it is winter weather awareness week.

Some clouds and fog will fill in across our coastal communities tonight. Temps will fall into the mid to upper 50s by daybreak.

There will be some more clouds tomorrow and we could even see a few showers swing through. Temps will warm to near 70 degrees again.

On Friday, after some overnight drizzle or rain makes its exit, we'll see clouds give way to some sun.

The thinking now is we'll warm to near the record high of 74 degrees before we see any rain make its way in -- if any at all.
