Suffolk Police: Website Has Been Cataloging Pornographic Photos Of Underage Girls

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island were investigating Tuesday night, after allegations that a website run overseas has been displaying naked and pornographic photos of teenage girls.

Suffolk County Police Computer Crimes Unit detectives were probing complaints that the website contained inappropriate pictures of mostly teenage girls who appear naked, scantily dressed or engaging in sex acts, police told CBS2.

The pictures are traded anonymously, and the site is set up to hide the identities of users and traders, police said.

A News 12 Long Island report indicated that some Long Island residents reported that local high school girls were appearing on the site. The site features links to photos from schools in each state, the report said.

Police said the site is run overseas by people who were also involved in the infamous theft and release of naked photos of celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence last year.

Police and federal authorities were seeking to catch those contributing to the site, and the investigation continued Tuesday night.
