Police Arrest Man Accused Of Setting Multiple Fires, Robbing Business On Long Island

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Suffolk County arrested a Bronx man they say went on a crime spree earlier this month, setting multiple fires and attempting to rob a gas station.

Back on June 6th, police say 35-year-old Willi Soto-Reyes burglarized and then set fire to a business in Wyandanch before attempting to rob an employee at a Sunoco station and then set fire to it.

He's also accused of setting fire to a car, a boat and a fence all in the same day.

Early Tuesday morning, police say Soto-Reyes torched five cars at an autobody shop in Deer Park before stealing a BMW and driving to a nearby home. When he got there, police say he stabbed someone he knew and then sped off.

Soto-Reyes eventually sped off and crashed into a tree, where officers finally took him into custody.
