Suspect In Custody In Connection With Subway Stabbing Incident That Was Caught On Video

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The suspect in the slashing of two people aboard an A Train earlier this month that was caught on video is in custody, police said.

The incident took place at around 7 p.m. Dec. 18 aboard an A Train subway near Jay-Street-MetroTech station.

WARNING: This video contains some foul language and violence.

The stylish suspect can be seen in the video threatening and attacking two people. What's not shown is what started the confrontation.

"Do you want to see what's going to happen when I get off this train?" the suspect says in the video before attacking the two. "I'm going to cut you. And I'm going to get away with it. Now if you say one more word, it's going to end very badly. Do you understand?"

Both victims suffered small cuts on their faces, police said. They refused medical attention.

Their attacker got off at Nostrand Avenue, police said.

A few days later, an apparent apology for the incident was posted on the Facebook page of a user identified as Chrissy Jackson.

"First of all let me say that I [am] not normally a violent person…. There was more to this story that was not captured in the beginning. I see a lot of hate, and it makes me sad because all I ever believed in was Peace & Love… However, society has chosen to shun and discriminate against me. I will be doing the right thing very soon, but in turn hope that in the future society learns to be kind toward the LGBT community because WE are human as well. I would to make a public apology, and please pray for me, and respect my privacy at this time. Thank You & Happy Holidays," Jackson wrote.

In comments on the post, Jackson wrote "I can't say much due to my lawyers but what I can say is that it isn't as bad as the media is portraying it."

So far, police have not released the identity of the suspect, saying only that the same person in the video is in custody.
