Reports: Queens Subway Incidents Leave 1 Man Dead, 1 Injured
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One man was killed and another injured in separate incidents on the subway in Queens on Monday, according to published reports.
In the first incident, a man was running alongside an R train around 3:30 p.m. when he fell and became wedged between the train and the platform at the Woodhaven Boulevard Station in Elmhurst, the New York Post reported. The man was taken to the hospital but the extent of his injuries was not known.
Hours later, DNAinfo reported a 51-year-old man was getting on an F train at the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens station around 6:45 p.m. when the doors closed on him. Sources told DNAinfo that the man was dragged about 30 feet and suffered injuries to his head and torso. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The NYPD is investigating the man's death, DNAinfo reported.
