NYPD: Man Wanted For Allegedly Choking Woman In Subway

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who they said allegedly choked a woman in the subway last month.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on June 25.

Police said 33-year-old Akeem Murphy got into a fight with a 21-year-old woman on a Queens-bound E train.

When they got off at Queens Boulevard and Union Tturnpike, police said Murphy chased the woman up the stairs, hit her in the face and started choking her. He eventually fled the scene.

Police released a picture of the suspect.
