Style Expert: 'It's Never Been More Fashionable To Be Fit'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Being fashionable while exercising is motivating people to stay in shape, a stylist told CBS 2's Cindy Hsu on Sunday morning.

In an in-studio interview, trend tracker Shaye Strager said she's seen many sports-inspired outfits being showcased during New York City's Fashion Week.

"It's never been more fashionable to be fit," she said. "And we saw so many great sports-inspired trends on the spring runways."

Strager was accompanied Sunday by several models. Among the items they were sporting were a two-in-one tank top from Old Navy with a blouson bottom. "That's great for women, like myself, who maybe the core is the hardest part to keep fit," Strager said.

One model also wore pants that had a section with lower compression for the waist "that reminds you to use your core and activate your core while you're exercising," Strager said.

"Fashion and fitness do need to be comfortable and look good and be stylish at the same time," she added.
