Students Honored For Bookmaking Skills

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Students from around the city and across the country are being honored this month for their colorful creativity.

CBS 2's Andrea Grymes interviewed Deborah Pope of the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation, which holds a bookmaking competition each year in honor of the Brooklyn-born author and illustrator, and Stuyvesant High School senior Aleksandra Stanisavljevic, one of the competition's winners this year.

"It's absolutely amazing what they come up with," Pope said. "You think you know what a book is, but you really don't until you've seen the gamut of what we get."
