Interview: The Power Of Procrastination

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- There's nothing quite like the pressure of a looming deadline to motivate you to do those annoying tasks. But for those of us who procrastinate, that pressure often comes with a lot of stress, even if you do manage to get the work done in time.

Steve McClatchy, author of "Decide: Work Smarter, Reduce Your Stress, and Lead by Example," stopped by the CBS2 studios to offer tips on how to manage the tendency to procrastinate.

"We all do it because there's benefits to it," McClatchy told CBS2's Diane Macedo. "And we carry this guilt around that it's a bad thing. So if we don't realize the benefits of it, we really get into that feeling of guilt, and that can be counterproductive."
