The Statue of Liberty turned 131-years-old on Saturday.

The monument in New York Harbor has served as a symbol of freedom since it was gifted to the United States from France.

A museum honoring that history is now under construction.

Barges carrying concrete trucks will arrive Saturday on Liberty Island, where crews will be pouring concrete to start construction on the first level.
