Police: Person Of Interest In Custody After Man Found Stabbed To Death On Staten Island

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A person of interest is in custody after police said a man was stabbed to death early Thursday morning on Staten Island.

It happened just after 2 a.m. in the area of Richmond Terrace on the waterfront behind the Staten Island ferry terminal and the ballpark in the St. George section.

Police said they found a 30-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to the torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was found with his belongings on him and at this point, robbery does not appear to be a motive, CBS2's Jim Smith reported.

The person of interest in custody is being questioned by investigators, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
