Staten Island Residents Rally Against Housing Development On Mount Manresa

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Staten Island residents planned to gather on Richmond and Platinum Avenues on Saturday, to rally in an effort to save Mt. Manresa.

The rally was set to begin at 1 p.m., CBS 2 reported.

Protestors have called on developers to preserve the 15 acre parcel of land that has been sold by the Jesuit church.

Residents say the land is historic and should remain as green space. The Savo Brothers plan to build a housing development on the property.
